Layouts tab
The Layouts tab displays the nested layouts, and provides some options to edit them.
Clicking on one of the layouts brings it into view, and allows you to edit the layout interactively. The buttons along the left edge of the Layouts tab allow you to do some operations with the entire layout.
-
Add Blank is used to create an empty layout on which you can then do manual nesting, while Delete deletes the currently selected layout.
-
The Move Up and Move Down buttons are used to shuffle the order of layouts within the list.
-
The Do Nesting button is used to re-nest any un-nested parts.
-
The Do sheet fill button is used to fill the currently selected layout with parts that are un-nested . This option is useful when you have a layout that is not fully filled, and you want to fill it with un-nested parts[1] that are added very recently.
-
Save All is used to save all the layouts as separate .fxlyt files, while Export DXFs is used to export the images of the fully nested sheets as DXF files, that can be opened with any viewer or editor that can work with DXF files. (Each part in the layout becomes a block-insert entity in the DXF).
-
The Create NC button is used to generate NC programs for all the layouts, as well as a layout setup sheet that provides details on all the parts used in the job, and all the resulting layout sheets.
Here’s one section from a layout report that is generated by the Create NC command.
