2-D Import
Flux can import 2-D drawings from DXF or GEO files. These drawings are typically 2-D flats - they are unfoldings or developments of a 3D sheet-metal part, ready for processing with a laser cutter.
To process for laser, press brake or panel bender machines, Flux needs a sheet-metal drawing that contains:
-
One closed outer contour
-
One or more inner contours (holes)
-
One or more bend lines
See the 2-D Cleanup page for more information on how to use the sketch mode tools to clean up a drawing, or to add bend-line annotations. Once the drawing is ready, it can then be used for further processing:
-
Press 3 to fold the drawing to a 3-D model (using the bend-line annotations present in the drawing).
-
Press L to process the drawing for laser cut.
-
Press B to process the drawing for die-bending on a press brake
-
Press F to process the drawing on a panel bender
-
Press W to open the Workflow panel to do all processing this in a more interactive manner.
| You can also create a 2-D drawing completely from scratch by using the File / New / Drawing menu and then using the Sketch tools built into Flux. |
