Import assembly
A 3-D assembly file can be imported by clicking Open icon in the command bar.
After a 3-D file is imported:

Select
Workflow icon and click the
symbol to explode assembly. -
Alternatively, use shortcut key X to break up the assembly into individual bending parts.
After an assembly is exploded, a message is displayed indicating the total number of parts found in the assembly along with the part count.
When a part is selected, its quantity is shown.
The 3-D model is automatically categorized after importing. Different symbols and colors are used to depict these models:

Surface model |
A surface model contains a group of surfaces connected with each other.Some surface models can be analyzed and converted into metal models. |

Metal model |
Represents models with layers and bend sections, all sharing the same sheet thickness. Metal models can be unfolded into a flat pattern or used as the basis for bending operations. |

Laser model |
A laser model is a flat part with no bends, requiring only laser cutting or punching operations. |
|
Tube model |
A tube model is generated from an extruded tube section, which may include end cuts, rims, and holes. |
|
Component |
Represents a non-metal part, such as a bolt, nut, or washer. These components are excluded from manufacturing processes in Flux bend and are included only for generating the bill of materials (BOM). |
The symbols are displayed in the software next to the file name. Different colors are displayed in the 3D view to categorize the models. The following standard colors are used:
